Marsha D. Carter
Founder & Director

Marsha D. Carter, is a native of MN, and the founder and director of Beyond the Dance Network (BTDN) and Beyond the Dance Team (BTDT). With over 20 years of dance experience, Marsha’s passion is to help advance, empower, encourage, and guide underserved women and children through movement, choreography, and pageantry to a place of joy, confidence, discipline, and unity: simply put, “Advance Through Dance”.
She is committed to ignite and empower others vision and is engaged in the process. She teaches using group participation and individual mentorship. Although dance is one of her passions, Marsha also teaches leadership seminars and leadership workshops at homeless shelters, community centers, and schools for the purpose of releasing oppression, depression, and shame through movement, she is a women's advocate and very active in her community.
BTDN, is a Non-Profit Charitable organization who delights themselves on being a catalyst for personal and social change through dance. They believe anyone can “dance and make a difference”!
BTDN hosts a annual Empowerment Conference in the twin cities serving over 150 people for the purpose of connecting communities through teaching, equipping and releasing individuals through the disciplines of dance, flags, tambourines, banners, and silk veils.
Marsha holds a Bachelor’s degree from Maranatha Collage, leads small groups, consultant at Sabathani Senior Center, Moms4Moms and partners with Girls In Action, Family Values For Life, and Naomi Family Center.
Marsha resides with her husband Anthony (Tony) Carter Sr., a retired assistant Fire Chief of St. Paul, MN.
