Dancing to make a difference!

History

Beyond the Dance Network (formerly Unity In Worship Network) is the vision of our founder, Pastor Marsha D. Carter.

Her vision for Beyond the Dance began in 2000 when Marsha’s mother, Marion Snargrass (a community leader and activist) was saddened by the continued lack of funds for the Sabathani Senior Center, which she has been a part of for many years.

A south Minneapolis native, Marsha decided to move into action to help address her mother’s concerns. Unity in Worship was initially formed to help raise money for Sabathani Senior Center by holding various events.

Eventually Unity in Worship transformed into Beyond the Dance. It was formed by blending Marsha's love of movement and her passion for leadership development.

Mission

Beyond the Dance Network is a community based organization purposed to ignite and develop leadership skills for under served women and children. We use movement and fine arts as a vehicle to motivate, empower, and cultivate positive self-esteem, and self respect which can be applied in their personal lives and community.

Leadership

We walk along side those who are in the developing process and assist them in expanding their business through life coaching, fundraising and/or providing a platform to enlarge their territory.

Empowerment

Through workshops, teachings, and conferences we aim to propel others into their destiny.

Network

Formerly Unity In Worship Network, we were officially established in 2010. The network is comprised of five individuals who drive the mission of Beyond the Dance Network. To do it all would be impossible without all the meaningful partnerships we have throughout the Twin Cities and greater USA. We believe in each one, teach one and making a
difference in the community.
